(because lets be real… that’s
what you really want to know!)
Copy Editing and Proofreading for Authors Who Care About Their Craft
You already did the hard part:
You wrote the story. The post. The piece.
Now it deserves to be read the way you intended.
This is editing and proofreading for authors who care about voice, pacing, emotional impact, and reader trust. Not sterile. Not generic. Not AI-flattened. Clean, sharp, and true to your story.
Whatever you write, the goal is always the same: make your work stronger without making it sound like someone else wrote it.
Who This Is For
This service is for you if:
- You are an author who wants your writing taken seriously
- You care about craft, not just speed
- You want your voice refined, not replaced
- You are publishing indie, serial, blogs, or traditionally querying
- You know your story is good but can feel where it is not quite landing yet
If you want someone to rewrite your piece for you, this is not the right fit.
If you want someone who respects your intent and makes it clearer, stronger, and cleaner, you are in the right place.
What I Offer
Copy Editing
This is where the real work happens.
Copy editing focuses on clarity, flow, consistency, and readability while protecting your voice and tone. It is not about changing your style. It is about removing friction for the reader.
This includes:
- Sentence structure and flow
- Repetition and word choice
- Tone consistency
- Clarity of thought and pacing
- Dialogue readability
- Awkward phrasing and rhythm issues
The goal is simple. Your reader should never trip over your words.
Proofreading
Proofreading is the final polish.
This is the last pass before publication to catch the small things that break immersion.
This includes:
- Spelling
- Grammar
- Punctuation
- Typos
- Formatting consistency
No story feedback here. No restructuring. Just clean, professional presentation.
Optional Content Review
For authors who want an extra set of eyes on the reader experience.
This focuses on:
- Clarity of scenes and transitions
- Logical flow
- Gaps in explanation
- Reader confusion points
This is especially useful for stories with layered detail, complex structure, or internal rules.
What Makes This Different
I am not a grammar robot.
I am a reader first.
I edit the way your audience reads. I pay attention to emotional beats, tension, voice, and pacing, and I understand how genre expectations shape the reader experience. I know when a line is technically correct but emotionally wrong.
I do not flatten voice. I sharpen it.
I do not rewrite your story. I support it.
Your style stays yours. It just reads better.
How the Process Works
- You send your document and a brief description of what you want help with
- I review the scope and confirm timeline
- I edit using tracked changes and comments
- You receive a clean, polished version plus notes where relevant
- You review and ask any follow-up questions
Clear. Respectful. No mystery steps.

A Note on Voice and Genre
This blog exists because I care deeply about strong heroines, solid world-building, and stories that respect their readers. That same standard applies here.
If you write fantasy, romance, urban fantasy, paranormal, shifter, or genre fiction with heart, you will be understood here.
If you write something else, you are still more than welcome here. Good writing is good writing!
